Taken from the Dreamer EP, the title track ‘Dreamer’ (and its excellent video) is yet another example of the stunning deep house talents produced at the hands of LA-based brothers Luke and Zack Matsuk, who perform under the name Casino Gold. Retro vocals appear from the opening seconds of the tune, placing it amongst the wealth of tracks that inspired the release, before a build takes us into a thoroughly modern section full of pulsating, almost percussive melody lines driven forward by an insistent motor rhythm. When these two ends of the spectrum combine, we’re treated to an exploration of the boundaries of deep house music itself. -Dan Peeke
